BIO
Jose Antunes
is a professional journalist and photographer with a careear spanning near
three decades, covering various subjects from Nature and landscape to
monuments and aviation.
Having worked as a stringer for AP, with the New York agency FPG and the
british Cephas back in the eighties, he has vast collaboration published in
many portuguese titles including newspapers as Expresso, Diario de
Notícias, Diario Popular, Sete, Tal & Qual, A Capital and Publico, and
magazines as Mais, Crónica Ilustrada, Tempo Livre, Correio da Natureza,
Sábado, DN Magazine, CM Magazine, Descobrir, Exame Informática, and Bit. He
is actually editor of the photo magazine FOTOdigital and was for five years
executive editor of an aviation magazine, Sirius, which he transformed from
a minor publication into a journalistic project covering the adventure of
flying.
He has written about photography since the 80's, at Som & Imagem (Diario de
Noticias) and various articles for Diario Popular, Sete, O Jornal and
Publico. In the same period was responsbile for the launch of Olhar a 8/16
page weekly supplement at the daily newspaper A Capital, a project that was,
for some time, the only reference in terms of the portuguese photographic
market. Since the mid-eighties he writes about digital photography for
different publications.
He also keeps
a monthly column on photography at Expresso, the biggest weekly newspaper in
Portugal, writes features for travel magazines as Rotas do Mundo and has
work with the image banks Alamy, Gekko and Photographer Direct. You'll also
find some of his work at Photoshelter, a professional photographers website.
Two books about photography written since 2005 and another one ready to
print are a sign that he hasn't stopped investiganting the adventure of the
evolution of Photography. |
